FC Bayern Women's next opponents in the DFB Cup have been confirmed. The draw for the round of 16, which was carried out by Germany coach Christian Wück and former Bayern player Lena Lotzen on Thursday evening, paired the Munich girls with SC Freiburg. The tie will take place in the Black Forest between 22 and 24 November.
FC Bayern Women saw off SC Sand in the second round.
As Bundesliga clubs, both entered the competition at the second-round stage. The German champions and last year's cup runners-ups saw off second-tier SC Sand with a 6-0 victory in the third competitive game of the season. Freiburg progressed to the last 16 with a 2-1 win at 1. FC Nürnberg. In the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga, the Breisgau side have one win and one defeat to their name after the first two matches.
The two sides met on the opening day of the league last season, playing out a 2-2 draw in the Black Forest. In the reverse fixture at the FC Bayern Campus, Alexander Straus' side won comfortably 4-0.
