Germany claimed a famous 4-3 win over England at Wembley, with Giulia Gwinn playing her part by scoring two goals. Klara Bühl was also in the spotlight and helped put the visitors 3-0 up. And even though Georgia Stanway scored two of her own, the Lionesses were still beaten. They made up for it in their next game with a 2-1 win over South Africa.

As for Germany, they suffered the reverse as they were beaten 2-1 at home to Australia in their next game despite taking an early lead.

Goalkeeper Ena Mahmutovic was with the new Germany U23 team as they beat France 3-0 before a 2-2 draw in Italy.

Victorious play-offs for Euros

Samantha Kerr (Scotland), Sarah Zadrazil (Austria), Linda Sembrant, Magdalena Eriksson, Julia Zigiotti (Sweden), Tuva Hansen (Norway) and Jovana Damnjanović (Serbia) played in the first round of their play-offs in qualification for Euro 2025 in Switzerland. All four countries were able to claim aggregate wins over the two legs and will go into the second round, with the two legs on 27 November and 3 December.

Tough fixtures in the Americas

Glódís Perla Viggósdóttir and Ana María Guzmán were both in action across the Atlantic. Iceland had a double header with the USA, with the USWNT winning both 3-1. Colombia were in Brazil and managed a 1-1 draw before being beaten 3-1.
