Great job! FCB Women reach second quarter-final in four days

Just four days after the convincing 5-0 home win against Carl Zeiss Jena in the Bundesliga, Munich drew 1-1 with Vålerenga IF in the Champions League on Thursday. With ten points from four games, Bayern have definitely booked their place in the next stage. On Sunday evening, the second coup followed with the away victory in the DFB Women's Cup round of 16 against SC Freiburg.

FC Bayern president Herbert Hainer, praised the team after their successful week: "Congratulations on reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League and the DFB Cup! Making the next round twice in four days is a really impressive achievement. In the Champions League, our FC Bayern Women prevailed in a group with renowned international clubs such as Arsenal and Juventus. This is a testament to the high quality of the team and the fact that it is constantly developing under coach Alexander Straus. In the DFB Cup, SC Freiburg were the most difficult opponents of all the top-flight clubs in the last sixteen. Our women also overcame this hurdle – and that after a tough run of games. Now, after the international break, we're looking forward to the end-of-year push with four matches in twelve days. Good luck!"
