The facts on FCB Women's top-of-the-table clash against Wolfsburg

1. Third home win in a row?

Bayern have won their last two home league games against Wolfsburg, coming out on top 1-0 in March 2023 and again in a 2-1 victory in November of that year. A third consecutive home win would be a first - and one Alexander Straus' side will be desperate to achieve!

The two best back lines in the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga come up against each other on Friday, with both teams having conceded just 11 goals so far. The Bundesliga champions and DFB Cup holders are also the two teams who have allowed the fewest opposition shots (Bayern 112, Wolfsburg 134) and let in the fewest set-piece goals (four each). That's not to say the fans won't see any goals on Friday, though: with 41 goals apiece, the two sides also make up the joint second-best attacks in the league, behind Eintracht Frankfurt (53).

4. Set-piece strength on both sides

The title race in the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga is more exciting this season than it's been for a long time. While Bayern and Wolfsburg have virtually been fighting it out among themselves in recent years, another challenger has now emerged in second-placed Eintracht Frankfurt. Interestingly, in each of the last nine seasons, the team who have been top after 16 matches have always been crowned champions. A good omen for Straus' side.
