FC Bayern Women sign goalkeeper Anna Klink

FC Bayern Women have signed Anna Klink. The 30-year-old goalkeeper moves to the Bavarian capital from Basel for the new season, signing a contract until 30 June 2027. Klink has played for the Swiss runners-up for the last two years and gained valuable international experience there.

De Sá Fardilha: ‘Brings a wealth of experience’

Francisco De Sá Fardilha, FC Bayern Women sporting director: “We are delighted that Anna has accepted our offer to join FC Bayern Munich. She brings a wealth of experience to our goalkeeping team and will contribute to the development of her younger colleagues. Anna has a positive attitude and knows the Women's Bundesliga very well. We are also convinced that she can improve even further through daily work with our coaching and goalkeeping team.”

Klink: ‘Want to play my part in the team’s success’

Anna Klink: “It’s a great feeling to sign for the biggest club in German women’s football. I’m looking forward to working in this professional environment, contributing my experience and especially training with the two young goalkeepers. I hope I can help the team along with my experience and obviously it would be a dream to win a title together. I’m a quieter character who observes a lot – but I’m an absolute team player. I’m looking forward to everything that’s in store for me here and I want to play my part in the team’s success.”

From Leverkusen via Basel to Munich

Klink, who was born on 22 March 1995 in Engelskirchen, began her footballing career close to home at Bayer 04 Leverkusen. She made an impressive 138 Bundesliga appearances for the Werkself as well as 21 games in the DFB Cup. The goalkeeper moved to Basel ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, making a total of 50 appearances and impressing with consistently strong performances. She helped the team to finish second in the AXA Women’s Super League in 2024/25, level on points with winners BSC YB Frauen. In the subsequent play-offs, Basel were narrowly beaten by GC Zürich in the semi-finals.
