In the first competitive fixture of the new season, the first trophy will already be up for grabs: on Friday 30 August, double winners FC Bayern Women take on VfL Wolfsburg in the 2025 Google Pixel Supercup. Kick-off will be at 14:00 CEST at the BBBank Wildpark in Karlsruhe. Fans can purchase seating and standing tickets for the Bayern block from the DFB ticket store from 11:00 CEST on Friday 13 June.
Heavyweight clash to start season
It’s the match-up that has defined German women’s football in recent years and it promises tension at the highest level again in 2025: Bayern versus Wolfsburg. An evenly matched clash that provides a highlight right at the start of the season. The Supercup is normally contested between the Bundesliga champions and DFB Cup winners of the previous campaign, but since the Munich girls completed the double in 2025, Wolfsburg become the opponents as the runners-up in the league. Following the 2024 Supercup in Dresden, the Wildparkstadion in Karlsruhe is the venue for this year’s match – a worthy venue for two teams eyeing the first trophy of the season.
Repeat of last season
The two sides also met in the first edition of the relaunched Supercup in August 2024, with FCB claiming the first title of a historic season in a 1-0 win over the She-Wolves. Klara Bühl scored the only goal after nine minutes, and thanks to some fine saves from Mala Grohs and an unbreakable team spirit, the defending German champions deservedly lifted the trophy at the end. Now they’re looking to repeat that success against familiar foes.
