Sad news for Sarah Zadrazil and FC Bayern Women: the FCB co-captain suffered a cruciate ligament tear in her left knee during the Bundesliga match against SC Freiburg on Tuesday night, as confirmed by scans the following day. The Austrian midfielder was successfully operated on this morning and will be absent from the team for several months.
Bianca Rech, director of women’s football, promised Zadrazil the club’s full support: “This is really bitter news – above all for Sarah herself. For us it’s a big loss and we’ll miss her a lot on the pitch, that’s undeniable. We stand firmly behind Sarah and will support her on her road to recovery in every possible way we can.
