It’s a partnership that takes women's sponsorship at FC Bayern to a new level, as FCB CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen explained ahead of an exclusive ‘Monocle’ panel discussion marking the long-term partnership between FC Bayern and Hitachi Energy.
The panel included Markus Blume, Bavarian Minister of State for Science and the Arts, and Professor Wolfgang Herrmann, the former long-serving president of the Technical University of Munich, in addition to Maxine Ghavi, Region Head Europe at Hitachi Energy, and Bianca Rech, FC Bayern Women director.

In Hitachi Energy, "we have a partner with whom we share values and visions," said Rouven Kasper, FC Bayern board member for marketing & sales, in his welcome address to around 50 invited guests: "At FC Bayern, we want to be pioneers and always be the best. Why? To inspire people." Bianca Rech, FC Bayern Women director, elaborated: "We want to bring energy to the pitch. It's a big puzzle, and every player is a piece of this puzzle contributing to common goals." Everything went smoothly and quickly, said Andreas Schierenbeck, CEO of Hitachi Energy, referring to how the partnership came about: "This shows the trust and that the chemistry between us is right." In football, you achieve your goals as a team, he said, "and Bayern and we are a strong team."
