Marie Gmeineder extends contract with FC Bayern Women until 2028
Marie Gmeineder has signed a new contract with FC Bayern Women until 30 June 2028 and will spend the forthcoming season on loan at SV Werder Bremen. The 18-year-old made her competitive debut for the Munich first team last season and has featured 45 times for the reserve side to date.
De Sá Fardhila: ‘Marie has developed very well’
Francisco De Sá Fardilha, FC Bayern Women sporting director: “Marie has developed very well over the last two seasons. This contract is also a recognition of her great willingness and strong personality. Whenever she’s had the opportunity to train or play with the first team, she’s been brave and impressed. That gives us great optimism for her future with us. The fact that Marie comes from Deggendorf also demonstrates once again how much talent there is in our region. With the loan move to Werder Bremen, we now want to give her the chance to gain more important experience at a high level. Under the guidance of head coach Fritzy Kromp – whose ability to work with top young talent we are very confident in – Marie can take the next step in her development.”

Gmeineder: 'Nothing better than extending my contract with Bayern'

Marie Gmeineder: “I’ve been a fan of FC Bayern since I was a child, so for me there’s nothing better than extending my contract here. Coming to Munich two years ago was the perfect step for me. I’ve felt comfortable here on and off the pitch since day one, and have been able to develop in the best way under these professional conditions. The many minutes in Bundesliga 2 and the training sessions with the first team have been very valuable in that. To continue my technical, tactical and personal development and hopefully gain experience in the top flight, I am really looking forward to the coming year in Bremen and the new challenge. My initial contacts with the management there were thoroughly positive, and I also made my Bundesliga debut in our match at Bremen – that’s a good omen.”
