A special night for Edna Imade and Bernadette Amani: at the sixth Gala Femenina del Fútbol Europeo, organised by Spanish sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the Munich duo were among those in the spotlight in Barcelona on Monday. Nine awards were handed out at the historic Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm venue, with two of them going to FC Bayern Women players. Imade received the ‘Talent Trophy’, while Amani was presented with the ‘Career Trophy’.

Imade’s award is recognition of her great footballing talent and sharp rise. The forward caught the eye during her loan spell at Real Sociedad last season with 13 goals in as many games. On stage, Imade emphasised how much the accolade means to her – and that she wants her story to also encourage young girls to believe in their dreams.
Amani’s honour also reflects an extraordinary journey. The midfielder left her home country, the Ivory Coast, in 2019 to pursue her football dream in Spain. Following spells at several clubs – including Eibar and CD Tenerife – she worked her way up to the top of European football and joined FC Bayern at the stat of this year. Amani spoke at the ceremony of how proud she was and that playing football abroad was not only her own dream but her family’s too.
Two players, two very different paths – and special recognition for both of them. We congratulate Edna and Bernadette on their awards and are proud to have them in our team!
