It's Matchday 8 in the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga! FC Bayern Women visit Werder Bremen on Sunday evening, kicking off at 18:30 CET on Pitch 11 at the Weserstadion. The game will be shown live on DAZN and Magenta Sport in Germany.
The state of play
Bayern remain top of the table following the 2-0 win at home to MSV Duisburg last Sunday, and are still unbeaten in all competitions this season. On Wednesday, Alexander Straus' side kicked off their UEFA Women's Champions League campaign with a 2-2 draw at home to AS Roma after the visitors equalised in the 91st minute.
The opponents
With 10 points from the first seven matches, Bremen are currently seventh in the standings. Coach Thomas Horsch's side have struggled for consistency so far this season – they've yet to register back-to-back wins in the Bundesliga. However, last time out they notched an emphatic 5-0 victory at promoted team RB Leipzig.
The team news
There's no change on the injury front for FCB, Long-term absentees Pernille Harder (knee), Carolin Simon, Weronika Zawistowska (both cruciate ligament) and Cécilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir (dislocated kneecap) remain sidelined, but everyone else is available.
Straus: Bremen are a good side
Alexander Straus: "Bremen are a good side, but if we produce our best performance we also stand a good chance of winning. Regeneration is important with the number of games we have at the moment. So, we're regenerating but obviously preparing thoroughly for Bremen in order to get a win on Sunday."
Lina Magull: "Every game is important for us, be it Bundesliga or Champions League. Bremen are obviously different opponents compared to Roma, but they know just as well how to defend with heart and passion, so we're travelling to Bremen with exactly the same mindset and certainly want to bring home a win from there."
