The opponents: Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg travel to the Bavarian state capital in third place and are hot on Bayern's tail with 38 points and a goal difference of +30. Head coach Tommy Stroot's side have won each of their last two league matches, with the 6-1 thrashing of Frankfurt followed by a comfortable 2-0 victory at RB Leipzig.

The She-Wolves were also victorious in the reverse fixture against Bayern. The 2-0 win inflicted a first defeat of the campaign on FCB and ended their record unbeaten run of 44 matches in the Women's Bundesliga. Now the two teams meet again - with the chance for the Munich side to avenge that defeat.

The team news

Straus remains without long-term absentees Lena Oberdorf (knee ligaments), Katharina Naschenweng (knee joint) and Georgia Stanway (knee ligaments). Captain Glódís Viggósdóttir is a doubt because of niggling knee problem.

Straus: 'Both teams play at a high level'

As a team we're concentrating on implementing our game and our philosophy as best we can against Wolfsburg. Matches against Wolfsburg are always close because both teams play at a high level."

Sydney Lohmann: "We're in top form and have a strong team spirit. We know we can win if we give it our all. The games against Wolfsburg are always close, often decided by fine margins. The intensity in these matches is high, the tackles are hard. That's what makes these games so special."
