The first season without Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben on the pitch at the Allianz Arena is about to begin but the duo are present as never before at the FC Bayern Erlebniswelt: The new special exhibition, ‘ROBBÉRY - Laufwege’, reviews the great careers of the two superstars. Personal exhibits from their private collections, exclusive film material and, of course, a host of trophies outline the career paths of the Bayern legends from childhood through to the greatest successes in a red shirt.
Two players and personalities who could hardly be more different but who also have so much in common: that is the subject of the exhibition that demonstrates much love for detail. It is not just about the historic successes but also about their origins as youth players in France and Holland. Visitors follow the journeys through life of the ambitious and straightforward Arjen Robben as well as the combative and sometimes rebellious Ribery that finally crossed at FC Bayern. That was the start of the great success story: Few players have made such a long-standing impression on the club in its almost 120-year history as 'Robbéry'. As players, title winners and characters!
Unique title collection and exciting insights
The duo look back at 21 (Robben) and 24 (Ribéry) titles won since 2009 and 2007. Together they have celebrated five doubles and the historic treble in 2013. Key exhibits obviously include some from the treble season. Amongst them are the two shirts worn in the final at Wembley as well as the European Player of the Year trophy that Frank Ribéry has made available from his private collection until the end of the year. Further awards such as the Footballer of the Year (Ribéry 2008), for the 'best goal in France' (Ribéry 2006) and the Johann Cruyff Award (Robben 2003) are included in the exhibits selected by the two wizards on the wing. What a chess piece and a work glove are doing in the exhibition is also explained.
FC Bayern say THANK YOU
The players made a special point of offering their fans and supporters a behind-the-scenes insight into their careers. The best goals plus other film highlights will be shown on screens and there will be a showcase of photographs including some that have not previously been published. The climax of their success will be available to the visitors on stage in the true sense of the word: It will be possible to have souvenir photos taken with the two stars along with the trophies from the record year of 2013.
With this exhibition, shortly after the departure of ‘Robbéry’ in the summer of 2019, FC Bayern again want to say a big THANK YOU for their great contribution to a decade that counts amongst the most spectacular and successful since the club was founded. The exhibition is not only worth a visit for FC Bayern fans but also for anyone who loves football. Up to the end of 2019, this is included in the price of a ticket for the FC Bayern Erlebniswelt.
