Fans need to get down to the FC Bayern Museum quickly if they want to get one final look at the popular special exhibition ‘All the best, Sepp Maier!’, which will only run until the end of February. The reaction from visitors who have already seen the display over the past few months tells you that it is absolutely worth seeing.
The exhibit was opened on 28 February 2024 to mark the 80th birthday of Bayern’s legendary goalkeeper. The display has now moved into its own space inside the Museum, allowing visitors even more room to closely examine the exhibit’s memorabilia and take in the impressive film about Maier’s life.
Homage to a Bayern great
The special exhibition has also been repeatedly expanded over the course of the year to include unusual exhibits. First, a huge portrait of the man himself surrounded by the trophies he won. Then the Bavarian Order of Merit, which was integrated into the exhibit in the summer immediately after Maier was awarded the honour.
‘All the best, Sepp Maier!’ sheds light on various aspects of the legendary goalkeeper's sporting and private life. The selected exhibits include goalkeeper gloves developed by Maier in the 1970s, a miniature of the 1974 World Cup trophy, the hobby magician Maier's personal magic box and one of his infamous snuff machines.
So, take this final opportunity to get to know Maier the player and man from a completely new perspective! Access to the exhibition is included in the admission price for the FC Bayern Museum.
