Following a period of intensive refurbishment, the FC Bayern Museum reopened its doors a few weeks ago – and is now even more diverse, modern and engaging. Some key areas are already looking more resplendent than ever, with exciting displays, updated content and new exhibits bringing the history of FC Bayern to life in an even more emotional and authentic way. At the same time, work is still ongoing in some areas, as the museum continues to evolve step by step. So visitors can not only look forward to fresh experiences, but also be excited to see what changes will take place in the coming weeks and months.

Four new themed areas – from 1933 to the ‘Finale dahoam’ (home final)
The section covering 1933 to 1965 takes a closer look at the club’s difficult years – politically, commercially and in sporting terms – during the Nazi era and the post-war period, right up to its promotion to the Bundesliga. The extent to which the ‘golden generation’ featuring Franz Beckenbauer, Sepp Maier and Gerd Müller subsequently shaped the club’s development into what was then the best club in the world is brought to life in the 1965 to 1979 themed area through spectacular installations and exhibits.
The 1980 to 1998 section provides a compelling account of the club’s rise to become record champions, featuring key players such as Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Lothar Matthäus, as well as the commercial boom and the sporting highs and lows of the 1980s and 1990s. And in another newly created themed area, the dramatic decisions and unforgettable triumphs of the period from 1999 to 2012 – including the 2001 Champions League victory and the tragic ‘Finale dahoam’ – are showcased.

Further innovations for a unique museum experience
Furthermore, the Via Triumphalis – comprising faithful replicas of the Meisterschalen and the DFB Cups – has now been redesigned as a double-rowed avenue. In its new form, too, it's sure to remain one of the exhibition’s most popular photo backdrops. Of course, the trophies from the 2025/26 season have already taken their place: the current exhibits in the museum were delivered in person by Serge Gnabry, Jovana Damnjanović and Pernille Harder.

Another highlight is the new Café Rot Weiß, where you can enjoy a relaxing break, let your gaze wander over the museum and discover the newly redesigned Treasury right next door – featuring unique exhibits and commemorative gifts from all over the world. For younger fans, three children’s corners have been completely revamped: from Berni’s Arena building site to the design of the future kit, the exhibition features dedicated family areas where children can get creative.

Refurbishment to be completed by autumn
The remaining modernisation work is once again being carried out whilst the museum remains in operation. As things stand, the refurbishment is expected to be fully completed by autumn 2026 – so you can look forward to many more new features.
The FC Bayern Museum is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the building works and thank you very much for your understanding.
