With less than a week before FC Bayern Munich's arrival in the United States for their summer tour, an eager Claudio Pizarro weighed in on their first opponents, Chivas de Guadalajara. Pizarro, who just recovered from his calf injury in time for the team's pre-season games at the Telekom-Cup this weekend, is looking forward to seeing the many Peruvian fans in the New York area turn up for the game.
"I think it's going to be a nice experience for us. We hope all the Peruvian fans, and there are a lot Peruvian people there, will come and enjoy the game," the veteran striker commented. Many Peruvian supporters showed up the last time Bayern played in the US, back in 2006 when they played the New York Red Bulls. A certain Claudio Pizarro was on the scoresheet for that game.
The 35-year-old striker is also eager to test himself against Bayern's Mexican opponent, "I know a bit about Mexican soccer. I think they have a good team and it's going to be a good match for us as we prepare for the new Bundesliga season."

Ski Stars welcome Bayern to US
On their US tour, Germany's record champion will be welcomed by two internationally renowned Skiers: Lindsey Vonn and Maria Höfl-Riesch. Both will take part in the kickoff ceremony at Bayern's match against Chivas de Guadalajara at Red Bull Arena in New Jersey on July 31st.
American Vonn is a veteran Skier for the US team and has won four World Cup championships, one of only two female skiers to do so.
