While most of the Bayern players are enjoying the summer, sweat is already running again at Säbener Straße – at least for Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito. The two defenders are working on their comeback every day, showing total dedication.
Individual. Together. Determined.
Today, Friday, started with medical treatments and massages for the pair, before continuing with an intensive warm-up on the bike and treadmill. That was followed by stabilisation exercises and targeted strength training – some of it together, some of it individually. The sessions are observed closely by the FC Bayern rehab coaches.
Two different injuries, one shared goal
Davies, 24, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on international duty for Canada in late March, while 26-year-old Ito sustained a fracture in his right foot in the friendly against Düren last July.
Both are aiming to return to the pitch as quickly and safely as possible – and in the process are already showing their characteristics: mentality, discipline and team spirit.
