FC Bayern Munich Women's pre-season continued this week with a 1-1 draw against French vice-champions, Paris Saint-Germain. The guests took the lead in the 17th minute through Kenza Dali but Bayern equalized in the 81st minute thanks to a Kristina Schuster goal. The game continued a run of good results in pre-season for the team so far as they recorded big wins against Swiss champions, FC Zurich, and Austrian champions, NÖSV Neulengbach, last month.
Bayern opens up their new Allianz Women's Bundesliga campaign on August 31st against 1. FFC Frankfurt.
Lotzen's lengthy layoff
Recently-nominated European Player of the Year and European champion, Lena Lotzen, picked up an unfortunate injury in training on Thursday evening this week. An MRI confirmed the suspected tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in the 20-year-old's left knee as she know faces a lengthy layoff to recover. We wish her all the best and a speedy recovery.
