Bayern to face Fenerbahce in final

FCBB have reached the final of the “Dogus Basketball Tournament” in Zadar. Bayern followed up their opening victory over Olympiacos (77-60) with a win over KK Zadar on Saturday (72-66). They face Fenerbahce later today in the final (21:00 CEST). They have already beaten Darussafaka Dogus (62-59) and Red Star Belgrade (88-65) in the tournament.

The game against Fenerbahce, who are in Bayern’s Euroleague group, will act as ideal preparation for the competition. Their opening home game is against Khmki Moscow (22nd October, 20:00 CEST). The domestic campaign gets under way in the Audi Dome on Friday, 2nd October (20:15 CEST) against cup winners Oldenburg.

Bayern found themselves 22-13 behind after the first quarter against Zadar but an improved performance at both ends of the court saw them go into the final period with a 59-51 lead. The hosts found themselves just a point behind FCBB early in the final quarter but a late spurt saw Svetislav Pesic’s men pull away once again.
