Two days after the impressive display away at Chelsea, the FC Bayern pros reported back to the Säbener Strasse to take up preparations for Saturday's match away at TSG Hoffenheim. Serge Gnabry, who played a crucial role in the victory in London, has been nominated for the UCL Player of the Week award (vote for our number 22 here).
Focus on regeneration
Gnabry and the other starters from Tuesday's match trained in the performance centre after warming up. Proper regeneration is a decisive factor during phases of midweek matches. The other FCB pros continued on the pitch and demonstrated they are fired up for the Hoffenheim match, taking shots.
Goretzka practising headers
Leon Goretzka, Joshua Zirkzee and Oliver Batista-Meier then trained headers at the pendulum, Hermann Gerland's favourite device. Under the auspices of the FCB assistant coach, the trio jumped high and tried to hit the ball at the right moment again and again. Bayern aim to take the next three points away to Hoffenheim, and aerial prowess might prove key in the match.
