The incredible fight back in the 5-2 win against Mainz 05 was a matter of hours ago when Hansi Flick and his players came together on Monday morning to start preparing for the game against the next opponents Borussia Mönchengladbach. The 55-year-old coach fortunately has additional options for his match plan in Friday night's Bundesliga clash – the four recently injured players Kingsley Coman, Marc Roca, Joshua Zirkzee and Buona Sarr were fit again for the session.

Wait-and-see with Gnabry

While the players who were in action against Mainz worked on recovery in the Performance Centre to recharge their batteries from the exertions of last night, the quartet completed the whole training session with the other players in the squad. Only Serge Gnabry was sidelined at the start of the week. The 25-year-old forward suffered bruising against Mainz but there were already positive signs following an examination on Monday morning: "I'm lucky nothing more serious happened," explained the Germany international. "I have bruising above the shin following a blow. We'll have to see how it turns out. It's painful at the moment."

New options for Gladbach

If Gnabry is fit again in time then Flick will almost have a full squad available for the coming weekend: With Coman, the FCB coach said ahead of the clash with FSV Mainz that he was "on the right track" following his thigh injury from the Leverkusen match in the middle of December and he should "be available for the game against Gladbach." And Roca, who missed out on Sunday night due to slight muscle problem, plus Sarr and Zirkzee, who were not an option for the game against Mainz according to the FCB coach following the injuries suffered at the end of last year, returned to training with renewed commitment.
