What is One Team?
One Team is Euroleague Basketball's CSR project, which was launched in spring 2012 with the support of Turkish Airlines. Since then, Euroleague and Eurocup clubs have developed their own programs with the common goal of promoting the integration of disadvantaged minorities into society through basketball. One Team is also a partner of Special Olympics. All 40 EuroLeague and EuroCup teams regularly participate in action days.
One Team Season 2024/25 & 2025/26 – Together for Integration & Cohesion
FC Bayern Basketball has been involved in the Euroleague's One Team program for eleven years now, continuing its social commitment. Since the 2024/25 season, the focus has been further strengthened and specifically placed on integration and social cohesion. Together with the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation as a new One Team partner, children and young people from different social backgrounds are supported and encouraged.
We are particularly proud that our One Team is already entering its second season with the two organizations Young Refugee Center and Münchner Waisenhaus. Together, we are committed to giving children and young people from refugee shelters and social institutions the opportunity to develop both athletically and personally. Through regular training sessions, joint visits to game days, and a variety of activities, participants are actively integrated into society and experience how sport can build bridges.
The focus is on regular training sessions led by our One Team Coach Xaver Nassermann, who is also a youth coach at FCBB. A special highlight is when the two ambassadors Oscar da Silva and Niels Giffey drop by for training. Participants not only learn new basketball skills, but also important values such as team spirit, respect, and mutual support.
Through cooperation with local organizations and the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation, sustainable impetus is being given to integration and social participation. The goal: to give all children and young people the opportunity to develop athletically and personally, regardless of their background or circumstances.
FC Bayern Basketball and its partners are convinced that basketball connects people and creates opportunities. With One Team, we are sending a strong signal for diversity and togetherness in Munich.
Special thanks go to the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation for its valuable support of the One Team project!
One Team – Social engagement in recent years
2015/16 & 2016/17 seasons:
As part of the One Team program, FC Bayern Basketball launched a special training program for young refugees in 2015 in collaboration with the DJK Rosenheim sports association. Around 20 young refugees who were being cared for in facilities in Rosenheim and Frasdorf were given the opportunity to play basketball on a regular basis under expert guidance. The project not only promoted the young people's athletic development, but also their social integration and the building of a sense of community.
2017/18 – 2021/22 season:
In December 2017, FC Bayern Basketball began a collaboration with Offene Behindertenarbeit München (OBA) as part of the One Team project. The OBA is a dedicated institution of the Evangelical Lutheran Deanery of Munich and offers a wide range of leisure, educational, and counseling services for people with learning difficulties. Through joint training sessions and activities, participants were able to strengthen their athletic skills while gaining important social experience.
2022/23 & 2023/24 season:
From 2022 to 2024, FC Bayern Basketball continued its social engagement with Bellevue di Monaco. The residential and cultural center for refugees and interested Munich residents offers a platform for encounters and exchange. Under the guidance of an FCBB coach, participants had the opportunity to learn basketball, improve their skills, and make new contacts at BMW Park. The project helped bring people with and without a migrant background together through sport and promote mutual understanding.
