During the Adidas Next Generation Tournament - from January 20 to 22, 2023, in Munich's Audi Dome - FC Bayern Basketball is offering a top-class coaching clinic with international guests. Speakers include Pablo Laso who coached Real Madrid for eleven years,won the EuroLeague twice had six Spanish championships and integrated NBA star Luka Doncic into his team as a teenager.
Longtime Finnish international Petteri Koponen, who played for FC Barcelona as well as Bayern and ended his career after the 2022 European Championship, is also expected to attend the training event. He is expected to coach the "Adidas Next Generation Team" at the Munich qualifying event of the renowned ANGT junior tournament.
Another well-known participant is former FCBB coach Svetislav Pesic. He won the EuroLeague with FC Barcelona, was world champion with what was formerlyYugoslavia and is currently the national coach of Serbia.
Koponen to coach
In addition to these well-known speakers, Benas Matkevicius, who works for the Boston Celtics for many years as an international scout and assistant coach of the Lithuanian national team, is scheduled as an expert on the topic of "Scouting from A to Z". Jens Leutenecker, an analyst for the FCBB, will present and provide his live analyses of selected games and explain statistics that go far beyond the normal scouting report.
Stats and training
Dennis Thannhäuser, Robinson Bentler and Philipp Hartmannsgruber, who all work in the junior area of the Bayern Basketball team, will be responsible for the "Strength/Conditioning/Load Management" area of the program. They will give insights into their daily routine and experiences and what goes into their side of training.
Participation to the three-day coaching clinic costs 169 euros (including drinks and a meal each day as well as admission to the games); one-day tickets are available for 69 euros. Special rates are also available through FCBB hotel partner Leonardo.
The FCBB Coach Clinic is recognized by the Bayern Basketball Association as an official C-coach training course.
