The backcourt of FC Bayern Basketball will have a new look next season: Playmaker Sylvain Francisco is moving to Lithuania for the next season after a successful year in Munich to join the record champions Zalgiris Kaunas. The EuroLeague competitor bought out the 26-year-old Frenchman's contract.
Finals MVP in the Cup Victory
Francisco made his debut in the top league in a Bayern jersey, having come from the Greek league. The athletic EuroLeague rookie was the third-best scorer for the German champions in the top league, averaging 10.6 points (3.2 assists per game) in his 33 appearances. His step-back buzzer-beater three-pointer for an away win at Partizan Belgrade was particularly spectacular.
During FCBB's cup victory in February, he was even named Finals MVP after scoring 17 points in the final win over Ulm (81:65). In the league, his average was 11.7 points, but in the BBL playoffs, he only made two brief appearances due to a knee injury.
FC Bayern Basketball thanks "Frenchi" for his commitment during the double-winning season and wishes him all the best in Kaunas.
