"We want to win games and titles," said Hansi Flick in the press conference on Tuesday. The 55-year-old has his next chance to do just that on Wednesday, when FC Bayern contest the Supercup (from 8.30pm CEST with our live text updates and free web radio on fcbayern.com). The reigning champions and cup holders host Bundesliga runners-up Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena. Here's everything you need to know about the clash with BVB.

Bayern completed their preparations for Wednesday's game in the final training session on Tuesday. The best pictures are in the gallery:

    The situation

There is huge anticipation for the duel with Dortmund in the Bayern camp. "It's an absolute classic. Dortmund have a fantastic, young team, but also a lot of experience in their ranks. They play attractive football," Flick enthused. The coach has dismissed the loss on Sunday against Hoffenheim - the first after 23 victories in a row - and does not expect any negative effects on his team. "We lost a game, but we had an extremely successful period. Every player can have complete confidence in his strengths," said the 55-year-old.

The team got down to business once again in training on Tuesday. Bayern are ready for the Supercup!

    The opposition

BVB celebrated a convincing 3-0 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach in their opening league match, but this was followed by a 2-0 defeat at Augsburg. Lucien Favre has a number of promising young talents in his team this season. For example, attacker Giovanni Reyna and newcomer Jude Bellingham are only 17 years old. Then there are the 20-year-olds Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland, who according to Flick is on his way to "becoming one of the best strikers in the world". The youngsters are led by veterans Mats Hummels and Marco Reus (both 31). The Borussia captain is pushing back into the starting line-up after a long injury and is highly motivated for the duel: "When we play against Bayern, there's always prestige. That's why we won't take things casually for a single second. There's a title to win. Nobody wants to lose," said Reus.

    Team news

Flick has already revealed one secret about his line-up: Manuel Neuer will definitely be in goal against BVB. Aside from that, the coach has to cope with the loss of Leroy Sané. The winger suffered a capsule injury in his knee against Hoffenheim. There is still a question-mark over David Alaba, who was absent from training on Tuesday due to muscular problems. "We have to see how that develops," said Flick, who is also without newcomer Tanguy Nianzou.

    View from the dugout

Hansi Flick: "I really like the way Favre gets his team to play. They always want the ball and move towards the goal. We're competing with the best in Germany. This game will take us further."

    Top fact

The last time Steinhaus took charge of an FC Bayern game was in March 2020. It was the last game before the coronavirus break. Bayern beat Augsburg 2-0 at home to celebrate the club's 120th anniversary.

Bibiana Steinhaus will be the first woman to referee the Supercup on Wednesday. The 41-year-old has taken charge of games in men's professional football since 2007, and in 2017 she became the first female Bundesliga referee. Steinhaus has refereed four Bayern games so far - FCB have won all of them.
