Lewandowski, Neuer & Flick make the shortlists

Will this be the crowning glory of an outstandingly successful year for FC Bayern? Robert Lewandowski, Manuel Neuer and Hansi Flick have made it onto the final shortlists in the categories of The Best FIFA Men's Player, The Best FIFA Men's Goalkeeper and The Best FIFA Men's Coach at The Best FIFA Football Awards. This was announced by the governing body of association football on Friday afternoon.

The shortlists for each of the three categories include the three nominees who received the most votes during the voting period. In addition to Lewandowski, last year's winner Lionel Messi (Barcelona) and Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus) are also on the shortlist for the best outfield player. Jan Oblak (Atlético Madrid) and Alisson Becker (Liverpool) are in the running with Neuer for the goalkeeper's award. The shortlist of coaches includes Flick, Jürgen Klopp (Liverpool) and Marcelo Bielsa (Leeds United). The winners will be honoured at this year's virtual gala in Zurich on 17 December.

Votes cast by players, media representatives and fans

In addition to the captains and head coaches of the national teams and more than 200 media representatives, the fans were also able to make their choice. They were able to cast their votes online until 9 December.
