After a brace in the DFB Cup, Jamal Musiala has now received a double accolade from fans by being voted the FC Bayern Player of the Month for August and now also the scorer of the Goal of the Month. Club supporters chose the teenager’s second strike in the 12-0 first-round win over Bremer SV as their favourite goal from August.
Unstoppable into the corner
The Germany international scored the standout goal of the game in Bremen when he made it 7-0 in the 49th minute. A quick feint saw the 18-year-old jink past a defender on the edge of the box and into space to shoot, before burying his effort into the top left corner. Whether a fifth-tier club or a Champions League opponent, no goalkeeper was stopping that.
Batista-Meier and Gnabry follow
Bayern fans agreed and named the youngster’s strike the Goal of the Month for August with 52% of the votes. Next in the standings was Oliver Batista-Meier’s free-kick for the reserves against Pipinsried (28%), followed by Serge Gnabry’s thumping effort in the 3-2 win over Köln. This is Musiala’s second Goal of the Month honour of his still short career, following the December 2020 award.
