Austria and France played out a 1-1 draw on Friday evening on Matchday 3 of UEFA Nations League Group A1. Bayern midfielder Marcel Sabitzer played the full 90 minutes at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion in Vienna, while Benjamin Pavard (90 minutes) and Kingsley Coman (75 minutes) were on the French side. Lucas Hernández did not see any action. Andreas Weimann put the hosts in front after 39 minutes, and the lead lasted until seven minutes before time, when Kylian Mbappé equalised for France.
Stanišić a sub in Croatia win
The Croatian national team picked up their first win of the new Nations League season on Friday. The 2018 World Cup winners up beat Denmark 1-0. After a goalless first half, FCB defender Josip Stanišić came on for the second half, during which Mario Pašalić scored the winning goal in the 69th minute. Denmark still top Group A1 after three matches with six points, followed by Austria and Croatia both on four. France sit fourth with two points.
Tillman enjoys convincing win with USA
USA made a very strong start in the new CONCACAF Nations League. Gregg Berhalter's side thumped Grenada 5-0 overnight in Austin, Texas, with Bayern attacker Malik Tillman being introduced at half-time with the score at 1-0. Jesus Ferreira with a four-goal haul and Paul Arriola (both players for FCB partner club FC Dallas) were on the scoresheet for the Americans.
