Germany win World Cup dress rehearsal against Oman

Germany have won their final friendly ahead of the World Cup. Coach Hansi Flick's team defeated Oman 1-0 on Wednesday evening, with Niclas Füllkrug scoring the decisive goal for the national side in the 80th minute. FC Bayern players Manuel Neuer and Leroy Sané both played for the full 90 minutes, Leon Goretzka came off at half-time and Joshua Kimmich played the second half of the match. Serge Gnabry and Jamal Musiala were in the squad but watched the game from the bench. Thomas Müller is still an absentee due to injury.

Next Wednesday, Germany will start their World Cup campaign in Qatar. At 14:00 CET, the national team will face Japan at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha. "We want to get the first three points. We know it'll be a difficult task. It'll be important for us to be ready to defend while in possession and be sharp up front," said Neuer.

Coach Zlatko Dalić's team beat Saudi Arabia 1-0, with Andrej Kramarić scoring the decisive goal in the 82nd minute. Stanišić played the full 90 minutes. Croatia start their World Cup campaign next Wednesday at 11:00 CET with a match against Morocco.

Sabitzer wins with Austria against Andorra

The Austrian national team featuring FCB midfielder Marcel Sabitzer played a friendly against Andorra on Wednesday evening. Austria won 1-0 thanks to a goal by Marko Arnautović three minutes from time. Sabitzer played for the full 90 minutes. Paul Wanner, who also received a call-up, wasn't used. The Austrians will play Italy in another friendly next Sunday (20:45 CET).

Tel with a hat-trick for the France U19s

Mathys Tel and the France U19s kicked off their qualifying campaign for next summer's European Championship in Malta on Wednesday. The French laid down a marker straight away with an emphatic 7-0 win against Kazakhstan. Bayern forward Tel was in dazzling form, scoring three goals. Next Saturday, the U19s face Iceland, and on Tuesday, 22 November, Tel and Co. take on Scotland.
