In 2022, FC Bayern once again distinguished itself through its social conscience and its great commitment to the disadvantaged in all walks of life. For example, the German record champions supported the citizens of Ukraine and once again took a stand for diversity and solidarity with its "Reds against Racism" initiative. fcbayern.com takes a look at five good initiatives away from the pitch that go far beyond sport.

1. A home for refugees

Together with the city of Munich, FC Bayern launched a two-year housing project to provide refugees with disabilities from Ukraine with care and a permanent place to live. The costs are being shared by the FC Bayern Hilfe eV charity  and the AG.

2. Good man

Sadio Mané may not have been voted the Best FIFA Men's Player, but he was given another award that is at least as important: the Socrates Award for social commitment. Mané has been supporting people in his home country of Senegal for many years. He financed the construction of a hospital and donates €70 per month to each family in his home village of Bambali.

3. For Ukraine

Right after the war began, FC Bayern appealed for donations. Alongside SOS Children's Villages worldwide, FCB has been supporting children and young people in Ukraine ever since, and has donated €100,000 itself.

4. Reds against Racism

People are all the same. Nowhere is that more evident than on the sports pitch. To mark the International Weeks against Racism, FCB sent many signals for solidarity and diversity, the highlight of which was a campaign weekend on Campus with workshops, round tables and lots of sport.

5. Great gesture

The pandemic caused problems for many clubs, including Viktoria Köln 1904. That's why FCB waived 50 percent of its share of the gate receipts from the DFB Cup match at the Rhein-Energie-Stadion in favour of the long-established club.
