Bayern had their final two training sessions in Munich on Thursday before they head off to Doha and the Aspire Academy for their winter training camp on Friday. However, coach Julian Nagelsmann was still without a few players at Säbener Straße.
French players to travel directly
Among the players absent in Munich were French trio Dayot Upamecano, Benjamin Pavard and Kingsley Coman after they were given some extra time off following France’s World Cup final loss to Argentina. They will travel directly to Doha on Friday. Marcel Sabitzer and Noussair Mazraoui didn’t take part either. Long-term injury absentees Manuel Neuer, Sadio Mane, Lucas Hernandez and Bouna Sarr were also missing and will continue their respective recovery programmes in Munich. They won’t be traveling to the training camp.
First open session of the year
After the day’s first session in the morning, Thomas Müller, Jamal Musiala and their teammates welcomed fans to Säbener Straße for the afternoon. It was the first open training session of the year as the players and coaches took time to sign autographs and take selfies with those in attendance.
