Pavard wonder goal fires France to victory
It was a successful evening of internationals for FC Bayern players. Benjamin Pavard scored the winning goal in France's 1-0 victory in Ireland, while Matthijs de Ligt and Daley Blind enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win over Gibraltar with the Dutch national team. fcbayern.com has rounded up how the international matches went from an FCB perspective.
Pavard delights France
After their opening 4-0 win over Netherlands, France made it two out of two in EURO 2024 qualifying with a 1-0 success against Republic of Ireland. Bayern defender Pavard won it for Les Bleus with a long-range screamer off the underside off the crossbar in the 50th minute. As well as Pavard, who was on the pitch until the 81st minute, FCB teammate Dayot Upamecano also started for the French. Kingsley Coman did not feature in Dublin.
Comfortable win for De Ligt and Blind
After that emphatic opening defeat to France, Netherlands claimed their first win of the new qualifying campaign on Monday night, beating Gibraltar 3-0 in Rotterdam. Bayern defender de Ligt started and played 76 minutes, while Blind was introduced in the 63rd minute - the 33-year-old's 100th appearance for his country. Ryan Gravenberch was an unused substitute.
João Cancelo watches Portugal victory
On Sunday, Portugal eased to a 6-0 away win in Luxembourg. FCB's João Cancelo was not involved.
