Bayern put in a shift in morning session
The players entered the training pitches at Säbener Straße at ten o'clock on the dot on Saturday morning. After the FC Bayern players completed performance tests and medical checks in the past few days, they were now back together on the pitch for the first time – exactly 49 days after the incredible end to the season in Cologne. Alphonso Davies and Co were well aware of the intensity of preparations in the first squad session in the summer conditions: "Wow, it's hot," said the Canadian defender. Leon Goretzka agreed saying it was "burning hot." After the warm up routine and several stamina drills, coach Tuchel moved on to passing and intense match practice. The session ended for the players with runs as the first full team session of the new season lasted exactly 100 minutes.

Tuchel talks about personnel and start of the campaign
After a short journey by team bus from Säbener Straße to Tegernsee, coach Tuchel spoke to the media about the state of play at the German record champions. "We have four weeks before the first competitive game. It's nice that everybody is here and the international players have not had to join later," said the 49 year-old head coach, who was able to welcome most of his squad to the start of the pre-season with the exception of Matthijs de Ligt and Manuel Neuer. “We now have six days of training in which to bond and drill in our principles," added Tuchel. The coach sees everything set out perfectly for the coming season: “We don't have to get to know each other from the start. That's a good starting position. Everybody's very keen to prove themselves.”
