Diederich, Jung and Mayer meet more fans

Bavarian pub atmosphere in the middle of Singapore! On Tuesday evening, FC Bayern officials once again sought to mingle with local fans as part of this year’s Asia trip. Executive vice chairman Dr. Michael Diederich and first vice president Prof. Dr. Dieter Mayer as well as FCB legends Giovane Élber and Claudio Pizarro were guests at a fan event at the Paulaner Bräuhaus Singapore.

FC Bayern legends invite fans on a boat tour

As a former trade route, the Singapore River in the heart of the island state was Singapore’s lifeline for many years. Due to the impressive architecture on its banks, the historically significant waterway is still, to this day, worth a trip. Therefore, FC Bayern partner Paulaner and club legends Pizarro and Élber invited some supporters of the German record champions to a boat trip on the river. In addition to interesting facts about the history of the country, the upcoming match against Liverpool on Wednesday evening was, of course, also a topic of conversation on the water.

Fan tournament with Élber and Pizarro

After the boat tour, the Bayern legends visited the Lion City Sailors’ training ground, where Élber and Pizarro organised a fan match for the record champions’ local supporters. Even though the focus was not on winning and instead on making sure everyone had fun, Team Pizarro was ultimately able to celebrate their win with a cardboard version of the Meisterschale.

Press conference before Liverpool friendly

For head coach Thomas Tuchel and centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, the obligatory matchday press conference was scheduled one day before the highlight clash against Liverpool. For the Dutchman, the friendly is particularly special as he will also come head-to-head with some of his colleagues from the Oranje national team playing for the Reds: "I've been playing with Virgil [van Dijk] in the national team for five years - he's a role mode who's achieved a huge amount. I'd also like to congratulate him on being the new captain. I also have a good relationship with Cody [Gakpo]. I'm looking forward to seeing them tomorrow," explained the 23-year-old.
