Milestone and assisting qualities – fact check on the Augsburg victory

A successful start at home in the new Bundesliga season! Thanks to a commanding performance, FC Bayern bagged a 3-1 victory over FC Augsburg on Sunday. With these three points, the German record champions were able to break a glass ceiling of the all-time Bundesliga table. Alphonso Davies also stood out as an assisting force alongside brace scorer Harry Kane. Read more on the facts about the home win over FCA.

Bayern pass 4,000 points mark

What a record! After the victory against Augsburg, Bayern now stand at 4,001 points in the all-time Bundesliga table – in this calculation, the two-point rule that applied until the 1995/96 season was converted to the three-point rule. Incidentally, the German record champions lead the ranking with an incredible lead of 918 points over the second-placed team, Borussia Dortmund.

Brace! Harry Kane celebrates his first two goals at the Allianz Arena.

After scoring his first Bayern goal in Bremen the previous week, summer signing Kane went one better in the home match against Augsburg. The 30-year-old forward not only scored his first goal at home in the Allianz Arena from a handball penalty in the 40th minute, but then bagged a brace in the 69th minute to make it 3-0. The Englishman is only the third FC Bayern player to score three goals in his first two Bundesliga games – only Gustav Jung (1967) and Adolfo Valencia (1993) had previously achieved this. In addition, Kane has now scored in seven league games in a row (five of them for Tottenham).
