Stats and facts ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Bayern

After an unexpected 10 days off due to the postponement of last weekend’s Bundesliga encounter with Union Berlin, Bayern return to action away at Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday looking to continue their positive start to the league campaign that has seen them go 13 Bundesliga games unbeaten across multiple seasons, which is a run only current leaders Bayer Leverkusen can match. Here’s all the stats and facts ahead of the trip to Frankfurt.

Tuchel chasing personal record

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel celebrating away at Köln in the Bundesliga.

Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern made it six straight wins in the Bundesliga with the 1-0 victory away at Köln in November.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have won their last six league assignments, meaning the 50-year-old could now equal his personal best run in the Bundesliga. The only previous time the current Bayern coach has won seven in a row in Germany’s top flight was at the start of 2010/11 with Mainz.

Munich victorious in Frankfurt

Bayern have won their most recent two visits to Frankfurt, including last season’s 6-1 thrashing in the opening match. The men from Munich have won a total of 19 times away at Eintracht in the Bundesliga, which is the most of any visiting team to Germany’s financial capital.

Differing style in attack

Despite the fact Bayern have played a game less, they still top the Bundesliga chart for most shots (234). Opponents Frankfurt rank bottom in that regard alongside Werder Bremen (both 139). The champions also have the best shot conversion rate in the division (25%), meaning it’s no surprise to know they have also scored the most goals (43).

Kane eyeing new records

Harry Kane and Leroy Sane celebrate Bayern's goal away at Köln.

Leroy Sane and Harry Kane had reason to celebrate in the 1-0 win at Köln.

Niclas Füllkrug and Christopher Nkunku shared the Bundesliga top scorer crown last season with 16 goals each, but Harry Kane has already surpassed that total with 18 from only 12 games – the most ever after that number of matches. He could now also overtake the league-leading 26 goal involvements that Randal Kolo Muani managed in 2022/23, coming into the game with 23 already to his name (18 goals, five assists). The England captain has also scored in each of his last five Bundesliga games. Never before in his professional career has he enjoyed a longer scoring run in league fixtures.

Sane the Eintracht expert

There is no other team against which Leroy Sane has scored as many Bundesliga goals as Eintracht (four). The forward has also only had a direct hand in more goals in the German top flight against Borussia Dortmund (eight) than Frankfurt (six).
