
The FC Bayern squad returned to Munich on Thursday following an intensive four days in Faro on the Portuguese Algarve coast, where they'd resided since Sunday. Coach Thomas Tuchel and his staff held a total of five sessions during their stay to work on tactical processes, set pieces and match fitness.
"The team have trained at a very high level," Tuchel told media on Wednesday. "I love training camps because they give you the opportunity to stay together after these good training sessions. The energy that develops in training then stays in the group." Captain Manuel Neuer also offered a thoroughly positive verdict: "The conditions were very good, we can go back to Munich satisfied. The intensity was very high and the fun side wasn't forgotten either."
Team evening to round off
In addition to the strenuous training sessions, there was a golf session featuring Harry Kane and Thomas Müller, a padel tournament and a team evening at a restaurant on Wednesday. After the team's return on Thursday, it's back to work on Friday with the next session at Säbener Straße ahead of the Bundesliga match at home to Werder Bremen on Sunday (15:30 CET). Joshua Kimmich, who missed the training camp due to the birth of his child and has been keeping fit with the FC Bayern reserves instead, is expected back for that.
