After three intense sessions at the training camp in Faro, Portugal, head coach Thomas Tuchel stayed true to his word: "It's also about spending time with each other, which matters with a group. We also want to gain a few percentage points for the team spirit," the boss had said before travelling to the camp. So Tuchel gave his team Tuesday afternoon off – and his players used the time together for relaxation and various activities on the Algarve coast.
Round of golf for Müller, Kane & Co
Following lunch at the team hotel, Thomas Müller and Harry Kane played their long-awaited round of golf. Together with Sven Ulreich, Konrad Laimer and Eric Dier, the two attackers showed that they also have talent and skill on the course.
Padel tournament with Neuer & Co
In the afternoon, the majority of the squad recharged with a snack at the hotel before turning to sport again. A padel tournament took place in the early evening involving the coaching and backroom staff. The trendy sport is a mixture of tennis and squash and is very popular among the Bayern players too. Although it started to rain outside, the tournament was able to take place unimpeded on indoor courts. Bayern head coach Tuchel got involved as did tennis fan Manuel Neuer, Müller, Ulreich and U17 World Cup winner Max Schmitt.
