FC Bayern say goodbye to Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Bouna Sarr

FC Bayern said goodbye to Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (35) and Bouna Sarr (32) ahead of the team’s final Bundesliga home game of 2023/24 against Wolfsburg. Both will leave the German record champions at the end of the season. Board member for sport Max Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund presented Sarr with a gift from the club and thanked him for his commitment to FC Bayern. Choupo-Moting was unable to attend due to illness.

Max Eberl: “We would like to thank Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Bouna Sarr for four very successful years together. Both have contributed to FC Bayern becoming champions three times during this time and winning the Club World Cup and the German Supercup. FC Bayern wishes them both all the best for the future.”

Choupo-Moting: “I’d like to thank FC Bayern for a wonderful and successful time. It was a dream to have played for this great club. I always gave everything for the team and our outstanding fans.”

Sarr: “I’m happy to have been part of this great club and the FC Bayern family for four years. I would like to thank the entire club and its fantastic fans for their support. I wish FC Bayern all the best for the future. I will always carry this club in my heart.”

Max Eberl

Choupo-Moting moved to Munich from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2020. The Hamburg-born Cameroon international has since played 122 competitive matches for FC Bayern. The striker has scored 38 goals and provided 13 assists. During his time at Bayern, the club won the Bundesliga three times, the FIFA Club World Cup and the German Supercup.

Sarr also joined FC Bayern four years ago in the summer, moving from Marseille. He was also a three-time champion, Club World Cup and Supercup winner in Munich. The Senegal international also won the 2022 African Cup of Nations with his national team during his time at FC Bayern. Sarr played 33 competitive matches for the Reds, in which the defender scored one goal and provided four assists.
