'All of us are always happy to be here' - Bayern end intensive training camp at Tegernsee

In the morning, there was another session focusing on tactics, followed in the evening by the friendly match against FC Rottach-Egern. Following the open training session on Monday, FC Bayern ended the intensive training camp at Lake Tegernsee on Wednesday evening with another acclaimed performance in front of their fans in southern Bavaria. After the end of the match and an extensive autograph session on the sidelines, the team led by head coach Vincent Kompany travelled back to Munich.

Thanks for the hospitality

It wasn't just the first-team players and selected youngsters who were on the pitch during the morning session, but also the FC Bayern staff. Alongside Kompany, sporting director Christoph Freund and Max Eberl also joined in for a kickabout. The board member for sport spoke very positively afterwards about the work at Tegernsee, and had special praise for the team's hotel: "The facilities were excellent: the rooms, the service, the friendliness of the staff, the location, everything was really great. Thank you very much."

Bayern trained at the Sportplatz am Birkenmoos three times in total. "All of us are always happy to be here," stated stand-in captain Sven Ulreich, who also wore the captain's armband for Bayern between the posts in the first half of the friendly. The game against the local District League outfit FC Rottach-Egern was the conclusion of the three-day training camp. The German record champions won 14-1 in their first match under new boss Kompany.

Positive summary from Kompany

"Firstly I'm pleased," summarised Kompany. "We saw a lot of chances and a lot of young players, which is always pleasing. The boys fought for every ball and always tried to be positive. I couldn’t have asked for more today. We're pleased with the game today and now the focus turns to the next sessions and matches," added the Belgian.
