Friendly against Rottach - 1.8 million viewers watch LIVE on FC Bayern TV

The stadium at Birkenmoos holds 2,750 spectators. It was completely sold out on Wednesday evening when FC Bayern played hosts Rottach-Egern at the Tegernsee. But it wasn't just the Bayern fans in attendance who were able to watch the match live: A total of around 1.8 million people worldwide watched the 14-1 win against the local club on the live streams on FC Bayern's own digital media channels !

At peak times, almost 200,000 fans simultaneously watched the free FC Bayern TV broadcast via the club website fcbayern.com and social media channels such as YouTube and Facebook and experienced the emphatic win first-hand. Most viewers came from Germany, but many Bayern fans also tuned in from English- and Spanish-speaking countries. Almost 300,000 fans also watched on FC Bayern's Chinese platforms.

The friendly against Rottach-Egern was Vincent Kompany‘s debut in the German record champions' dugout. Interviews with sporting director Christoph Freund, stand-in captain Sven Ulreich, returnee Josip Stanišić and coach Kompany rounded off FC Bayern's extensive streaming package.
