Bayern’s players have their first week of pre-season in their legs. Reason enough to look back on the first few days of new head coach Vincent Kompany’s time in charge. We accompanied the 38-year-old with our camera and captured all the behind-the-scenes moments for you.
“It's crucial that you can feel right from the start that it's a new season and that the right mentality is immediately there with the guys,” said Kompany in an interview with fcbayern.com during the week (click HERE for the interview). This attitude was evident back on Friday last week, when several players were already hard at work at Säbener Straße before the official start of training. Kompany observed the goings-on on the pitch and had numerous conversations, with his players, the groundsmen and the reserves squad on the adjacent pitch. “You have the best job in the world,” he told the youngsters.
„Of course, we're in pre-season now, so you're not really fit yet and you still have to learn a few things. But the players have to be mentally fit straight away.”
