Max Eberl (board member for sport): "We defended very well once again and created chances going forward against a very good team. They're a young, exciting team. We were very steady again. You can see the confidence we have in ourselves. We're defending well and giving very little away. In the first half they had two dangerous moments but we didn't let that put us off. The key was that we kept going. Then we get the goal through Minjae. It's also good for us to get a goal from a set-piece situation. When they went down to 10 men, Paris had nothing to lose. We didn't manage to kill them off, which kept it tense until the end, but the key was the patience, conviction and togetherness we showed on the pitch."

Vincent Kompany: "I'm obviously pleased. We wanted to send the fans home happy, which we've done. Our pressing in the first half was very good, the discipline was there. We could've scored one or two more goals, which would've made the game a bit calmer. It was clear what they wanted to do and we dealt with that well. I was very pleased with the team's intensity. At Bayern Munich the expectation is always simple: win every game. On the whole it was a good performance. Now we look ahead to the weekend."

Manuel Neuer: "We faced strong opponents in Paris. We had to move them around a lot. They tried to put us under pressure but we stayed calm. After losing possession we were always in position. We're glad about the three points."

Thomas Müller: "The intensity in the game was great. Paris also played well in the first half but we took the fight out of them, stood up to them and kept the intensity high. We then took the lead through a set piece. Overall we deserved to win. It was good that we got the points – nothing more, nothing less."

Leon Goretzka: "It was an extremely intense game. We knew beforehand what to expect. You could see in the line-up with four midfielders that they'd try to keep the ball and test our pressing, how far we'd go. We kept going until the end. It's nice that we got the reward."

The reaction from the PSG camp

Luis Enrique (coach): "We struggled under the pressure of our opponents and weren't effective in our pressing. We didn't find any gaps in Bayern. We were dangerous in the first half but made a bad mistake for the goal."

Nuno Mendes: "It was a difficult match against strong opponents. We tried everything. With 10 men it was tough."
