High-scoring run at home: The facts ahead of Bayern vs. Eintracht Frankfurt

Home is where the heart is! That's certainly true for FC Bayern, who have collected no fewer than 31 points from their 11 home games in the current Bundesliga campaign – the last time the Munich men were this good at their own stadium was seven years ago. With just two points dropped in front of their own fans this season, they also boast the best home record across Europe's top five leagues. The next visitors to the Allianz Arena seem just right for such stats, since FCB's 42 home wins against Eintracht Frankfurt is actually a Bundesliga record. However, there are reasons why that doesn't necessarily mean anything for this Sunday's meeting with SGE (17:30 CET) – read what they are in the facts and stats ahead of the match.

Hard-fought contests recently

Eintracht have been uncomfortable opponents for Bayern in the recent past. SGE have taken points from three of the last four, and five of the last eight Bundesliga meetings with the German record champions (W3, D2). Before the 2-1 win in the last home game against the Hessians, FCB were winless in back-to-back encounters at the Allianz Arena.

The Bundesliga's best attacks

It could be a goal-filled Sunday. Bayern have scored the most goals of all teams in this Bundesliga season (65), Frankfurt the second most (49). Both sides have failed to find the net just once in the current campaign. That befell Vincent Kompany's men in the 0-0 draw at Leverkusen last Saturday, whereas Eintracht have scored in 21 successive Bundesliga games since the 2-0 defeat at Dortmund on Matchday 1. Unsurprisingly, that's the longest current such run in the German top flight.

Bayern's remarkable goalscoring run at the Arena

Back to Bayern's strength at home, though. The Reds have not only registered nine consecutive home wins in the Bundesliga for the first time since 2020, but have also scored at least three goals every time. In the history of the Bundesliga, only Bayern themselves have managed a longer run of this kind – in 1993, it was 11 straight home games in which the Munich faithful got to celebrate at least three times.

Sané likes Frankfurt

Leroy Sané should be particularly looking forward to the clash with Eintracht. Since his move to Munich, the winger has been directly involved in six goals in seven games against the Eagles (three goals and three assists) – he's not done that against any other opponent in a Bayern shirt. He's been involved in one goal in each of the last four meetings with SGE. Sané's current form doesn't say anything against a continuation of that run, as the 29-year-old has registered four goals and two assists overall in his last six Bundesliga appearances at the Allianz Arena.
