Two Bayern players enjoyed wins in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying on Saturday. Harry Kane struck the only goal of the game as England beat Andorra 1-0, while Konrad Laimer’s Austria kicked off their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Romania.
Kane captained England in Barcelona as they made it three wins from three in qualifying. The Bayern striker was originally denied by Andorra goalkeeper Iker Alvarez but was on hand to turn in the ball when put back into the middle by Noni Madueke. Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions top Group K with a perfect haul of nine points, scoring six goals and conceding none.

Laimer and Austria could also celebrate in the evening. The Bayern all-rounded played the full 90 minutes in midfield for Ralf Rangnick’s side in their first game of qualifying in Group H, having played in the UEFA Nations League play-offs against Serbia in March.
Josip Stanišić and Daniel Peretz also played in crucial qualifying wins on Friday:
