Winner in top-of-the-table clash - Joshua Kimmich claims the FC Bayern February 2026 Goal of the Month

Rarely has there been such a clear winner in the vote for the FC Bayern Goal of the Month. Joshua Kimmich secured February’s award for his winner in the 3-2 victory at Borussia Dortmund with almost 80 percent (79.3%) of the votes cast. Luis Díaz (8.8.%) and his strike in the 5-1 win against Hoffenheim, and Harry Kane (7.2%) and his goal in the 3-0 success at Werder Bremen, took the other places on the podium.

It’s hardly surprising given that Kimmich’s measured first-time volley into the corner of the Dortmund net was not only a joy to behold, but also hugely important. In the battle with the closest rivals for the title, the Bayern number six’s late goal in the 87th minute clinched victory and helped the champions to extend their lead at the top of the table to 11 points.

Clear declaration from Kimmich

“We’re not going to surrender this now,” stated the delighted 30-year-old after the final whistle against BVB. “No one has ever squandered that and it will stay that way.” From a Bayern point of view, one can only hope that Kimmich is right – and that his goal will soon be a must-see in any season review as one that decided the course of the title race.
