- FCB Women win and maintain lead at top of table
- 25th league game in a row without defeat
- Eriksson and Naschenweng on the scoresheet
Away win claimed, run extended & top spot maintained! FC Bayern Women had every reason to celebrate after a comfortable 2-0 victory against SV Werder Bremen in the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga on Sunday evening. The win also extends the Munich girls' unbeaten run in the league to 25 matches.
Alexander Straus' side made the perfect start in Bremen, with Magdalena Eriksson scoring after just two minutes and Katharina Naschenweng making it 2-0 before half-time. With 20 points from eight games, Bayern Women have a one-point lead over VfL Wolfsburg at the top of the Women's Bundesliga table.

Kerr and Lohmann recalled
The starting line-up showed two changes from the 2-2 draw against AS Roma in the UEFA Women's Champions League in midweek. Samantha Kerr and Sydney Lohmann came in for Sarah Zadrazil and Linda Dallmann, who dropped to the bench.

Strong first half
What a start! There were just 90 seconds on the clock when Bayern were celebrating for the first time. From Naschenweng's corner, Eriksson rose highest in the middle and found the net with a looping header. From then on, the visitors dictated play in what was a hard-fought contest. Straus' side got their next opportunity in the 22nd minute, but Lea Schüller's effort from close range was blocked.
Shortly after that, it was another corner that brought about the second goal of the evening. Klara Bühl whipped the ball in and with Bremen unable to clear, Naschenweng scored an untidy goal to make it 2-0. Bühl had the chance to make it three a few minutes later, but goalkeeper Livia Peng came out on top in a one-v-one.

Comfortably seen out
With the rain pouring down in Bremen, the second half was a similar story to the first, although goalscoring opportunities were in short supply for a long time. It wasn't until the 63rd minute that Bühl's free kick was saved by the Bremen goalkeeper.
A minute later, Schüller was put through on goal by Georgia Stanway, but again Peng was equal to it. And so it finished in a narrow but deserved 2-0 victory for the Bavarians. The only bad news of the night was an injury to Giulia Gwinn, who was forced off in the 83rd minute.

Paris then international break
The German champions are in action again this Thursday, 23 November, with a trip to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Kick-off is at 18:45 CET at the Stade Jean-Bouin. The players will then head off to their respective national teams before the league campaign resumes in December.
