Clear-cut win in top match! FCB Women extend run

  • FCB Women extend run
  • Birthday girl Bühl scores
  • Brace for Damnjanović

FC Bayern Women claimed an utterly deserved 5-0 victory away at Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday, winning their 11th match in a row. Birthday girl Klara Bühl (12’) handed her team an early lead, with Jovana Damnjanović (45’) and Pernille Harder (45’+2) putting the game to bed on the stroke of half-time. Damnjanović (48’) and sub Alara (67’) added gloss to the scoreline in the second half.

The 11th victory in their 12th league match takes Bayern onto 34 points, six clear of Wolfsburg.

Three goals in the first half

The visitors were in the driving seat and took an early lead when Linda Dallmann’s fine pass invited Bühl to find the net. Munich remained dominant, but Frankfurt were bolder after the goal and Nicole Anyomi’s header hit the bar (24’). Centre-back Magdalena Eriksson hit the post from Bühl’s corner at the other end (31’). Damnjanović went one better when she scored from close range from a Harder cross (45’). Bayern had more salt to rub into Eintracht’s wounds and the industrious Bühl invited Harder to crash home and make it three before half-time.

Plain sailing

The second half started as the first had ended. Bühl raced clear down the left and teed up Damnjanović with a textbook pass, the latter making it four (48’). The away side continued to attack and the woodwork prevented a fifth when Nadine Riesen tried to clear (64’), but Harder soon invited sub Alara to beat keeper Lina Altenburg (67’) and round off the final scoreline.
