FC Bayern Women kick off pre-season

Pre-season is under way for FC Bayern Women as the team officially kicked off their preparations for their 2024/25 title defence with performance diagnostics on Monday. Head coach Alexander Straus welcomed both new and familiar faces at the FC Bayern Campus.

Simon: “Looking forward to new season”

The defending Bundesliga champions appeared well rested, in a great mood and eager to get down to business as they came together for the new season for the first time on Monday morning. Among the players who arrived at the Campus were the two newcomers Ena Mahmutovic and Lena Oberdorf, as well as new assistants Clara Schöne – previously head coach of the second team – and Kjetil Lone, who arrives in Munich from Norwegian side Brann.

Defender Carolin Simon spoke of her delight at getting back to business. “I’m ready for pre-season and am looking forward to the new season. Last week I was thinking it was time to get going soon. The most important thing is seeing each other again and being excited. I had that feeling when I opened the door to the changing room today.”

Before the Frauen take to the pitch on Tuesday, they had to go through their performance diagnostics. Split into groups, the players were put through their paces at different stations under the guidance of fitness coach Hamid Masoum Beygi covering endurance, jumping, agility and speed.
