Championship, Supercup & record run: The year 2024 for Bayern Women

A second successive Bundesliga title - the six in the club's history - a record-breaking run of 44 games unbeaten, the first Supercup winners since 1997 and significant victories on the European stage: 2024 has been quite the year for FC Bayern Women. fcbayern.com takes a look back over the past 12 months.

Winter training camp in Alicante

Bayern Women started the year with a training camp in the Spanish sun from 7 to 13 January. The training camp in Alicante involved intensive training sessions on the pitch and in the gym as well as a friendly in preparation for the second half of the season. Off the pitch, too, the team bonded with group activities such as padel. Head coach Alexander Straus was pleased: "We've laid a strong foundation for the second half of the season here."

Home win over Leipzig in special LeGer kit

Straus' side continued on course in the league after the restart. The commanding 5-0 victory against promoted side RB Leipzig on Matchday 16 was their sixth Bundesliga win in a row and extended their lead at the top of the table. A highlight of the day was the debut of a special jersey, the first in the club's 54-year history designed exclusively for the women. The design came from entrepreneur and model Lena Gercke with her brand LeGer by Lena Gercke, and was produced in collaboration with adidas and FC Bayern.

A full house of 2,500 at the FC Bayern Campus saw Stanway give FCB the lead from the spot after just four minutes, but Geraldine Reuteler promptly levelled for Frankfurt 14 minutes later. With no further goals after 120 minutes, the contest was decided by a nerve-wracking penalty shootout. Maria Luisa Grohs became the match-winner with three penalty saves, while Harder netted the winning spot-kick.
